“One-stop” trade-in subsidy policy for home appliances promotes consumption increase-IT Wave-Northern Network
Recently, the State Council issued the “Action Plan for Promoting Large-Scale Equipment Updates and Trade-In of Consumer Goods” to clearly implement the trade-in action for consumer goods. Shanghai has implemented a new round of green smart home appliance consumption subsidy policies from March 30, subsidizing 16 categories of first-class energy-efficient home appliances. Major supermarkets have also launched “one-stop” subsidies for old-to-new replacements and extended partial renovations. and services.
On March 30, a reporter came to a home appliance store in Changning District, Shanghai and saw that consumers came to the store early in the morning to inquire about subsidies for purchasing home appliances. The reporter learned from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce that Shanghai’s new round of green smart home appliance consumption subsidy policies will be implemented from March 30 to December 31, 2024. For 16 categories of first-class energy-efficient home appliances, consumers will be charged based on the transaction price. 10% of the total amount enjoys a one-time immediate discount subsidy. In addition to traditional home appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators, eight categories including computers, printers, air purifiers, rice cookers, microwave ovens, induction cookers, electric fans, and water purifiers have entered Shanghai’s green smart home appliance consumption subsidy list for the first time. According to statistics from the payment platform, 12,000 orders of subsidized goods were traded throughout the day on the 30th, and the sales of subsidized goods were nearly 100 million yuan.
March to April is the peak season for decoration. Purchasing new home appliances is an important part of consumers’ move to a new home. However, during the process of dismantling old devices and replacing them with new ones, safety and convenience have always been the focus of consumers’ attention. This time, major merchants not only provided price concessions, but also launched service upgrades such as “disposal of old machines and installation of new machines in one trip” for trade-in, making “trade-in for new” more convenient.
Zhao Hongfu, manager of a home appliance store in Shanghai, said: “In the past, the old machine in the customer’s home was an air conditioner. When he came to our store to buy, he could only buy an air conditioner. This time, if the customer’s home has an old color TV or washing machine, he would have to buy it. You can also participate when you buy air conditioners in our store. Not only can customers participate in energy-saving subsidies across categories, but we can also provide ‘one-stop’ recycling and delivery of new machines.”
Mr. Hua, a Shanghai citizen, said: “I think this cross-genre format is a form that has never been thought of before. It is definitely better for us.”
