On April 30th, the famous Quyi musician and sanxian performance artist Mr. Han Baoli accepted his apprentice Wang Hui’s apprenticeship ceremony in Tianjin. Meng Guanglu, Ji Wei, Zhang Guoli, Shi Fukuan, Zeng Zhaojuan and many other celebrities witnessed the grand and moving ceremony.

Mr. Han Baoli narrated the process of his transformation from “teacher’s wife” to “master” on the spot: Wang Hui went to Han Baoli’s home when he was a child, and sent Jingyun Dagu performer Zhao Xueyi to his wife Bai (Yunpeng) to learn Jingyun Dagu. Wang Hui called himself “Master”. Now that his wife has passed away, he formally accepts Wang Hui as his apprentice, “I have to learn from Yi when I go back today and report to him carefully.” Mr. Han also gave his apprentice Wang Hui a pair of drums used by Mr. Bai Yunpeng.

Han Baoli said that he is very grateful to Wang Hui and his wife for founding the Deyun Drum Music Club, which rekindled their enthusiasm for the inheritance of drum music after six years of not pondering about drum music. Guo Degang specially introduced the teaching achievements of the Deyun Drum Music Club in the past two years, and announced that starting from May 8, the teachers and students of the Drum Music Club will report and perform in Tianjin for four consecutive days, showing the achievements of the joint efforts of teachers and students in the past two years , especially the two student performances in the middle, showing the drum music not only the singers, but also the backup power of the players.

Yue Yunpeng, who had learned Jingyun Dagu from Wang Hui, couldn’t help crying at the ceremony. He was grateful for the education and care of his wife for many years, and also felt that she sacrificed her artistic career of Jingyun Dagu in order to support the cross talk career. “I am very happy today, and I love my wife. There is one more person.”

The guests at the scene spoke one after another, saying that they were honored to witness this prosperous age in the folk art world, and they also hoped that the drum music industry will be passed down from generation to generation and carried forward. (Jinyun reporter Liu Xiaojing)
