From April 16 to 21, 2024, the “62nd Milan International Furniture Fair Salone del Mobile”, which has attracted much attention from home life brands and art designers, will be grandly opened, and “Milan Design Week” will also Held simultaneously.

In addition to this event, Roca will convey the message through the “Mediterranean Perspectives” themed exhibition area displayed at the Milan International Furniture Fair and the “Sparking Change” art installation created in the off-site salon. Roca has always been committed to pioneering design, sustainable concepts and innovative technology.

Rational and delicate geometric yearning from the Mediterranean

“Geometry” is the key word in Roca’s booth design. Mesura, an architecture company headquartered in Barcelona, specially created this “Mediterranean Perspectives” exhibition area for Roca at the Milan Furniture Fair. The exterior shape shows the style traceability to Barcelona, the birthplace of Roca, and the various internal geometric shapes create a unique atmosphere. Each product series is interpreted here, with different material aesthetics and design atmosphere.

Benjamin Iborra, a designer from Mesura, said: “Our goal is to provide visitors with an immersive experience. We want to strive to create an unforgettable experience that goes beyond the ordinary, inviting visitors to explore the different product ranges on display, At the same time, understand Roca’s values and historical heritage.”

The future and art listen to the voice of nature and ecology

Sustainable materials were a key factor in the design of this exhibition space. In order to be consistent with Roca’s sustainable development values, the designers reused recycled wood from previous projects and recyclable materials to minimize the impact of the construction on the environment.

Shining Change explores the laws of the cycle of all things

The “Sparking Change” art installation by MCA-Mario Cucinella Architects appeared at Milan Design Week. This installation was inspired by the world’s first recently put into production at Roca’s factory in Gmunden, Austria. A sanitary ceramics electric tunnel kiln will provide visitors with a unique fusion experience of virtual and real interaction.

Recycle and decarbonize. This transformative initiative has a positive impact on the planet and leads a paradigm shift in the ceramic production industry. 1,200 3D printed clay blocks made of natural clay and recyclable ceramics form a semicircular background, expressing how to upgrade traditional production processes and be friendly to the environment through sustainable innovative technologies.

“This installation proves that technology and digital tools are no longer just tools for creation, but can also inspire more creative expressions” – Mario Cucinella, founder and creative director of Mario Cucinella Architect

In the installation, the curvilinear shape and color gradient symbolize the operating temperatures of the ceramic firing process. The self-supporting structure can be assembled in a dry environment and easily disassembled, ensuring that it can be reused in future events.

Roca looks forward to meeting you in Milan, participating in this artistic feast, encountering the Mediterranean Sea, and witnessing the shining changes.
