Talking about the reasons for the establishment of the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneurs Group, Tan Sri Dato’ Lo Seng Chuan, President of the Malaysian Chinese Entrepreneur Association (ACCCIM), shared that before the establishment of the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneurs Association, he and Tan Sri Dato’ Dai Liangye were working together. In their 30s, they are the youngest leaders of the ACCCIM. They all believe that young people are capable of shouldering important responsibilities and that they are the future pillars of the country, so they established the Youth Working Group.
Until 2008, a youth business exchange meeting was held in Terengganu, and then successively held in Penang, Johor, and Kuala Lumpur. With the gradual growth of the youth working group, the Youth Entrepreneurs Group of ACCCIM was formally established on August 25, 2011. The first head of the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneurs Group was Dato Wan Yongwen, the second head was Dato Wu Yiping, and the third head was Li Tongliang.
For him, the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneur Group is a good platform for communication and learning, leading young entrepreneurs from all over Malaysia to expand business opportunities through the ACCCIM platform, and build a network of contacts and resources, thereby contributing to social and economic development. This platform cultivates and gathers more outstanding young entrepreneurs, so as to serve as a link between the past and the future in their own enterprises and ACCCIM.
Li Tongliang, the current head of the Youth Entrepreneurs Group of the ACCCIM, said that the Youth Entrepreneurs Association of the ACCCIM mainly recruits young entrepreneurs and professionals from various industries to strengthen and expand the National Youth Entrepreneurs Association, and unite young Chinese entrepreneurs from all states to work together and serve the society .
The ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneurs Group is also responsible for coordinating and integrating the basic member youth businesses of the ACCCIM, hosting national activities with the approval of the Central Council to enhance the workplace capabilities, entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit of Malaysian young Chinese entrepreneurs. Qiu Quanyu, head of the youth business group of the Malacca Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry who started his business 10 years ago, joined the youth business group at the invitation of his friends. The Youth Entrepreneurs Group of ACCCIM has three important activities this year. In conjunction with the coming of the Lunar New Year, the “2023 Youth Entrepreneurs of ACCCIM New Year Gathering” will be held on February 9.
During the period from June 24th to 26th, the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneurs Group will go to Bangkok, Thailand to participate in the “16th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference”, and in the second half of 2023, jointly organize the “Matai Chinese Chamber of Commerce Business Forum” and ACCCIM’s 12th Youth Entrepreneur Conference held annually.
Lu Chengquan mentioned that he recently visited the Thai Chinese Entrepreneur Association. The leadership of the association is over 70 years old. They very much agree that young cadres are needed to take over. Therefore, the ACCCIM Youth Entrepreneur Group has become a model example of the Thai Chinese Entrepreneur Association, and established a youth department, with members aged 50 to 60 serving as cadres. Not only the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, but other overseas Chinese Chambers of Commerce, such as the Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore, Canada and Japan, have also followed suit and established youth departments, which proves that the Youth Chamber of Commerce has considerable influence overseas.
The first Model Award honors 22 outstanding young entrepreneurs
In the just-concluded year of 2022, the Youth Entrepreneurs Group of ACCCIM drew a perfect end to 2022 with the “2022 ACCCIM Outstanding Youth Entrepreneur Model Award Ceremony and 11th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner for Youth Entrepreneurs”.
The two feasts were grandly held at the Dahua Theater in Penang, and 22 outstanding young entrepreneurs from all over Malaysia were honored that night. Qiu Quanyu, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the 2022 ACCCIM Excellent Youth Entrepreneur Model Award, said that this is the first time that the Youth Entrepreneurs Group organizes this award, and it also coincides with the 11th anniversary of the establishment of the Youth Entrepreneurs Group. It mainly recognizes young entrepreneurs with outstanding performance and encourages more Businesses learn from role models.
The 22 winners were recommended by the presidents of their respective associations, consultants or heads of the youth business groups.
