“Those Years, We Were Crazy Together” producer Yumi Wong and actors held a wonderful fan meeting in Penang

(Penang, 1st) The cast and production team of “Those Years We Went Crazy Together” had a warm and intimate interaction with fans at Stark X-Perience Gallery, Maritime Automall, and Karpal Avenue, and spent an unforgettable afternoon!

The atmosphere at the event was lively, and the actors interacted cordially with fans, sharing their roles in the movie and behind-the-scenes stories. The climax of the event included the wonderful speeches of the actors, who introduced their roles in the movie in detail and shared with fans the interesting stories and insights during the filming process. The appearance of each actor triggered cheers and applause, making the atmosphere more harmonious and cheerful.

Lead actor Lai Mingquan said that the character he played in the movie was very similar to himself, both of whom were full of drive and dreams. He admired Zhang Jiayi’s character for his willingness to do anything for friendship and dreams.

He also pointed out that although the actors in the play were not good at basketball, they put a lot of effort into the filming process. He particularly mentioned that the heroine Peng Jiayi performed well in a layup and successfully completed it in one take, which left a deep impression on him.

Peng Jiayi also shared her experience of acting in a movie for the first time. She said that although she was not familiar with basketball, she received a lot of training to play the captain of the basketball team and only used a double for some difficult actions.

Produced by Kangaroo Films and also the first supervisory work of local famous artist Yumi Huang Shiqi, the core elements of this campus-themed movie include madness, memories, cherishment and regret.

Movie Synopsis

“Those Years, We Did Crazy Things Together” tells the story of five graduating high school students – Jiayi (played by Maq Lai Mingquan), Kopi (played by Sam Liu Jiacheng), Uncle (played by Edmund Xiao Xiaojie), Wawa (played by Fang Yanyu) and Adi (played by Zayne Lin Weizhen), who are the core members of the school’s championship basketball team. In order to leave unforgettable high school memories, they frequently skip classes, make trouble, and play tricks on the girls they like. The only thing that can make them restrained is the strict math teacher and basketball coach “Mountain Pig” (played by Jack Lin Derong). When the coach takes a leave of absence due to injury, the five people find out that he is actually a full-time dad, taking care of three mature children. In order to make up for their guilt, they decide to do a crazy thing for the coach before graduation. Not only do they have to challenge their limits, but they also have to compete with the female members of the basketball club, Xinru (played by Jovane Peng Jiayi) and Jinghui (played by Joey Duand), to meet the ultimate test of youth.
