The Loongson 3A6000 released this time adopts the instruction system and architecture independently designed by my country and does not need to rely on foreign authorized technology. Generally speaking, there are two main ways to improve CPU performance, one is to increase the main frequency, and the other is to optimize the core design. The performance improvement of Loongson 3A6000 is mainly achieved through design optimization. Its main frequency reaches 2.5GHz, integrates 4 newly developed high-performance LA664 processor cores, supports simultaneous multi-threading technology, and has a total of 8 logical cores in the whole chip. Compared with the previous generation Loongson 3A5000, the performance of single-threaded general-purpose processors has been improved by 60%, and the performance of multi-process general-purpose processors has been improved by 100%.
Test results from the China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute’s Saixi Laboratory show that the overall performance of the Loongson 3A6000 processor is equivalent to Intel’s 10th generation Core quad-core processor launched in 2020.
The degree of autonomy and controllability of Loongson 3A6000 is second to none among domestic general-purpose CPUs. Focusing on the completely self-designed command system Dragon architecture, Loongson not only launched a self-developed CPU core, but also integrated GPU core, encryption and decryption IP, high-speed transmission interface IP, storage interface IP, audio and video interface IP, UART and other interfaces IP, as well as hard-core IP such as register files of various specifications, are also self-developed.
