On December 10, the “Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Anti-Aging Conference and the Re-election Meeting of the Collateral Diseases Professional Committee of the World Federation of Societies of Traditional Chinese Medicine” was held in Shijiazhuang. At the meeting, the key national research and development project “Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” led by Hebei Yiling Hospital was officially launched. Zhang Yun, Cong Bin, Wu Yiling and Zhu Liguo, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xu Jianpei, former vice governor of the Hebei Provincial People’s Government and former vice chairman of the Provincial CPPCC, Long Fenjie, Party Secretary and Director of the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Hebei Provincial Health Commission, Zhang Kai, Party Secretary and Director of the Hebei Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhao Luxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Shijiazhuang High-tech Zone, Jia Zhenhua, President of Hebei Yiling Hospital and other leaders, experts and scholars attended the meeting.
According to data released by the National Health Commission, as of the end of 2022, the number of elderly people aged 60 and above in the country will reach 280 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total population. Aging is not only a treatable disease, but also, together with known risk factors, leads to the early onset and high incidence of geriatric diseases. Anti-aging is of great significance in preventing and treating geriatric diseases.
In the past, the theory of Qi and collaterals was constructed to guide anti-aging research, and the core pathogenesis of aging was proposed as “deficiency of kidney essence, deficiency of vitality, and depletion of body and mind”, and established the principles of “tonifying the kidneys and replenishing essence, regulating yin and yang, warming and supporting vitality, and replenishing nourishment”. According to the “Xingshen” treatment method, the formula of Bazi Bushen Capsules is formulated to significantly improve overall aging, systemic aging and aging diseases. Experts argued that: “These studies combine the theoretical innovation of traditional Chinese medicine with modern science and technology, making significant progress in the anti-aging aspect of traditional Chinese medicine and producing important original results, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth research.”
It is reported that the National Key R&D Plan is currently the highest-level R&D project in my country, and the key project of “Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” is the only special project in the field of traditional Chinese medicine currently under the key R&D plan. The project “Research on the Anti-aging Evaluation Technology and Integration Mechanism of Traditional Chinese Medicine Guided by the Theory of Qi-Luo Theory, Jing-Qi-Shen Theory” brings together a team of five academicians including Wu Yiling, Zhang Boli, Cheng Jing, Gao Tianming, and Tian Jinzhou, as well as innovative transformation of collateral disease theory, creation of modern traditional Chinese medicine, There are 3 national key laboratories of membrane biology, 5 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education and other first-class technical teams in the field of innovation and transformation of collateral disease theory, analysis and evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine ingredients, and geriatric diseases.
This research project is guided by the theory of Qi Luo theory, Jing Qi Shen theory, and will build multiple aging models and multi-level evaluation systems to determine the optimal time and space window for intervention. The study explores the anti-aging biological mechanisms of kidney-tonifying and essence-tonifying prescriptions through multiple systems, tissues and organs. It plans to complete the evaluation of the anti-aging efficacy of more than 20 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines and 50 classic prescriptions, and clarify the material basis and efficacy of more than 4 kinds of anti-aging traditional Chinese medicines. Key targets, more than 10 active ingredients have been discovered, revealing the core pathogenesis and biological basis of aging. The research has set up a total of five topics, focusing on aging diseases such as heart, lung, brain, bone, and muscle, to explore the mechanism of aging and the superposition and interaction of known risk factors leading to geriatric diseases, and to develop “kidney-tonifying” treatment methods and representative prescriptions for anti-aging intervention. New approaches to geriatric disease.
Long Fenjie, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hebei Province, said: “The ‘Research on the Anti-aging Evaluation Technology and Integration Mechanism of Qiluo Theory Guiding the Theory of Essence, Qi, and Spirit of Traditional Chinese Medicine’ applied by Hebei Yiling Hospital was approved as a national key research and development plan. The implementation of this project It will definitely further improve the level of traditional Chinese medicine and promote more results.”
