——Looking at the growth rate, the growth rate of 17 provinces outperformed the country

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on January 17, preliminary calculations show that my country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023 will be 126,058.2 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2% over the previous year at constant prices.

Judging from the data released by 31 provinces, in 2023, the year-on-year GDP growth rate of 17 provinces will outperform the country, all exceeding 5.2%. They are Tibet, Hainan, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu, Jilin, Chongqing, Shandong, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Liaoning, and Qinghai.

Among the above 17 provinces, 8 belong to the western region and 2 belong to the central region, with the central and western regions accounting for the majority.

——Looking at the total volume, 9 provinces have reached a new level

Judging from the total GDP of various regions, the total GDP of Guangdong exceeded 13 trillion yuan for the first time, and the total GDP of Shandong and Zhejiang exceeded 9 trillion yuan and 8 trillion yuan respectively.

In addition, the economic aggregate of many provinces has achieved important leaps. Among them, Sichuan entered the “6 trillion yuan club” for the first time, Hunan reached a new level of 5 trillion yuan, Liaoning, Chongqing, and Yunnan all exceeded the 3 trillion yuan mark for the first time, and Guizhou also reached a new level of 2 trillion yuan.

In 2023, except for the total GDP of four provinces that has not yet exceeded 1 trillion yuan, the rest are already above one trillion yuan.

——Looking at the targets, 13 provinces raised their GDP growth targets

Currently, 31 provinces have set GDP growth targets for 2024. Among them, 20 provinces have targets of around 5.5% or above, and Tibet and Hainan have expected targets of around 8%. Compared with the actual GDP growth rate in 2023, 13 provinces have raised their GDP growth targets in 2024.

In order to achieve economic development goals, various localities have made active arrangements in many aspects.
