Over 200 children from 5 states showed off their creativity in the Haoyang Coloring Contest
(Penang News) The “Jade Rabbit’s Adventure·Drawing and Coloring Competition” organized by Hao Yang Healthy Food Industrial Co., Ltd., co-organized by the Penang Chinese School Teachers’ Association, and co-organized by the Service Center of Guangda District State Assemblyman Zheng Laixing and the Zhonglu Rural Community Management Council, came to a successful conclusion at the First Avenue Plaza in Penang a few days ago.
The competition attracted more than 200 contestants aged 4 to 12 from Penang, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. The children displayed their endless imagination and creativity through colorful paintings, and the scene was filled with innocence and joy.
When presiding over the award ceremony, Kuantar state assemblyman Cheng Lai Heng said, “To build Penang into a modern city, we must first build a good family. Therefore, the theme of Penang 2030 is to focus on the family, then have green space, and then become a smart state and be proud of the country.”
He said that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival with a long history, and its importance to us Chinese is no less than the Lunar New Year, because like the Lunar New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes family reunion and the full moon brings people together.
The competition also received strong support from many sponsors, including Penang City Hall, Jr.Don, Zeldex Enterprise, D’Fine Dental, Mingchuan Tea, daseo Korean Restaurant, Hanwen Pavilion, Seoul Garden and Pacific Coffee. The generous donations from the sponsors added many wonderful elements to the event, not only providing rich gifts for the participants, but also showing the care and support of the society and business community for the development of children’s art.

Group A (4-6 years old): Champion Zheng Yuzhe, Runner-up Yang Yitong, Third place Zeng Xuanxuan, Fourth place Zheng Xiaoxuan.
Group B (7-9 years old): Champion Lin Jingwen, Runner-up Huang Rouqian, Third place Xu Jiaying, Fourth place Hong Weishan.
Group C (10-12 years old): Champion: Li Jieyu, Runner-up: Li Haoxuan, Third place: Zheng Chuyan, Fourth place: Chloe Ong Xiang Yii.
