Bayan Baru Lions Club 19th Anniversary Datin Seri Tan Kim Heung Goo joins the cause
(Penang News) The Bayan Baru Lions Club in Penang celebrated its 19th anniversary. In his speech, President Datin Seri Tan Kim Heung called on Lions Club members to show love and join hands in the five major charitable causes of Lions Clubs International.
The evening also celebrated the six members who were awarded honors at various levels and were elected as city councilors in Penang Island and Seberang Perai. The scene was lively.
Attendees at the grand event included leaders at all levels of Lions Clubs International, including Datuk Hu Ik Kim, president of the Malaysia and Brunei districts, Li Huijiao, 308 B2 Counseling Regional Director of Lions Clubs International, He Jinyi, the first regional director of Lions Clubs International 308 B2, and Thailand Consul General in Penang Ratchada and others, and were warmly received by the founding president Datuk Seri Goh Chin Fu, the counseling president quasi-Datuk Major Chia Jin Wah and the former president Datuk Seri Lee Tiong Lee.
In her speech, President Datin Seri Tan Kim Heung thanked the colleagues of the Bayan Baru Lions Club for their assistance during her tenure in jointly promoting various charitable activities and the five major causes of Lions Clubs International, so that she can successfully lead this guild.

Assistant President-elect Datuk Chia Jin Wah presented the Chairman of the Working Committee with various activities, including a million-dollar ground-breaking ceremony donated to Guangyu Primary School, a charity seminar on seeking balance and embracing equality, donations to orphanages charity activities, blood donation campaigns, 2 in 1 leadership training camps, free buses brake activities, donations to childhood cancer, the Sabah Learning Center for Stateless Children, the International Lions Club Blind Chess Competition and the Diabetes Awareness Campaign to thank them for their hard work during their tenure.
At the meeting, the founding president Datuk Seri Goh Chin Fu also presented souvenirs to the six elected and appointed city council members, including Datuk Seri Lee Chung Lee who was awarded the title of DGPN Datuk Seri, and the quasi-Datuk Chen Diquan was honored as the DJN quasi-Dato. In terms of honors, Hong Baoqin was awarded the PKT title, Ye Zhongqian was awarded the PKT title, Liang Kaiwei was awarded the PJM title and was elected as a city councilor, and lawyer Zeng Weizhong was awarded the Penang Island City Councilor.
